I visited Evening Shade River Lodge & Cabins with my family. The view from our room was stunning, overlooking the river. I loved the unique decor in our Deluxe Queen Room. each piece really added character. The outdoor area had comfy swings and a cozy fire pit where we roasted marshmallows. The facility felt very clean, and I appreciated having a full-size fridge for snacks. However, our bathroom could have used an exhaust fan to avoid steam buildup after showers. Also, the Wi-Fi connection was shaky at times, which was frustrating. Despite these issues, the rustic charm and friendly management made our stay quite enjoyable.

Room #8 was tastefully decorated and clean, though the street lamp outside made for an unwelcome nightlight. The homemade ice cream was a delightful treat during our stay, enhancing the cozy atmosphere.

i had a wonderful two-night stay at the lodge, which exceeded my expectations from previous visits to chimney rock. the cleanliness and peaceful ambiance near the river created a cozy atmosphere, reminiscent of childhood camping trips but with modern comforts. the staff were very friendly and attentive, even lighting a fire pit for guests to enjoy.

I loved how close we were to the river and having covered porches for everyone was a nice touch. The Roku TV came preloaded with all kinds of streaming apps which kept my kiddos entertained at bedtime.

However no cable felt like a bummer during our stay.
